Flooding Inundates Raleigh Neighborhoods

Heavy rain triggered widespread flooding in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area overnight. The floodwaters began to recede on Tuesday, April 25, but many roads were still closed, according to a report.

The Crabtree Valley Mall was closed as the creeks running behind it flooded the area, though some stores started opening in the afternoon, according to a report.

Andrew McGuffin, who took this video, said some split-level homes in high neighborhood are flooded on the lower levels, and the road is closed a few miles away.

As much as eight inches of rain fell in the area since the storms began on Sunday. The rain started clearing by Tuesday afternoon.
