Riot police moved in on May Day protesters in Portland following reports of fires on May 1.
Portland Police declared the rally a riot, saying “anarchists” destroyed a police cruiser, attacked police officers, damaged windows and properties and set fires to objects. “Numerous people” were detained in the City Hall area, according to the police.
