Following the announcement of Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau's resignation protesters called for Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges to step down as well. Harteau resigned after a police officer fatally shot 40-year-old Australian Justine Damond. Damond had called the police herself to report a possible sexual assault in her neighbourhood.
