Following a freegan philosophy, she attempted to reuse and scavenge many materials for the skoolie bus conversion, including the sink and propane stove that were given to her in exchange for demolishing an old trailer.\r
\r
She and several friends worked on the camper tiny house so they could use it as a tour bus for their multi-disciplinary fire shows which they performed all over Eastern Canada.\r

The waste vegetable oil system (WVO) or straight vegetable oil system (SVO) was installed by a diesel mechanic that Zola prefers to keep anonymous. \r
\r
When collecting waste veggie oil from restaurants, she uses a fuel transfer pump to get it from the dumpster into one of her 55 gallon oil drums. Once it the drum is full, she filters the oil through a filter bag, and funnels it into the second drum, which is the burn barrel (the fuel tank that is hooked up to the engine). \r
\r
A hotfox system was installed to run warmed coolant through a pipe in the oil drum to heat the oil to the same viscosity as diesel so that the waste vegetable oil can enter the engine smoothly. Before getting to the engine, the oil runs through a water separator filter, and a second filter to ensure there is no water or food residue in the oil.\r
\r
The Hotfox (coolant operated tank heater) and oil filter bags that Zola mentions in the video are from the PlantDrive online store in BC, Canada: \r
\r
A diesel engine that has been converted to run on WVO still has its original diesel fuel tank because the engine needs to run on diesel for approximately 5 minutes at the start and end of each trip to ensure that there is no WVO left in the engine when its not running because it would solidify and make it difficult to start the engine again the next time.\r
