A river running through Gisborne on New Zealand’s North Island is expected to burst after wild weather hammered the region overnight, causing water levels to rise and bring flooding to nearby homes.
NZ Herald reported houses along the Waimata River were at risk following potential flooding, with dozens of roads in the surrounding areas already closed
