As I have often maintained in the past, drugs may have destroyed many people, but wrong governmental policies have destroyed many more. I welcome the West Africa Commission on Drugs’ visit to Nigeria this week, and I hope that their findings will stimulate further dialogue and cooperation between civil society and government, and muster the political will to improve current drug policies in the region.
