The Lake Christine Fire in Colorado had grown to over 8,300 acres by July 6, according to CBS Denver. The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office reported the fire was zero-percent contained. Erratic winds were making the fire unpredictable, officials said.

This footage, shot by Barry Stevenson on July 4, the day the fire started, shows aircraft dropping water and fire retardant on the fire,.

All evacuation orders were still in place by July 5, and officials from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said they did not know when it would be safe for residents to return to their homes. Three homes had already been destroyed by the fire.
