Freight Train Derailed in Arizona During Heavy Monsoon Rains

A freight train derailed on Interstate 10 in Tucson, Arizona, on Tuesday, July 10, due to heavy monsoon rains, the Northwest Fire District said.

Union Pacific said 27 freight cars derailed on the tracks parallel to Interstate 10 in Tucson.

The train traffic resumed through the derailment site at reduced speeds on Wednesday, July 11, following overnight work to clear one of the two tracks.
