On Wednesday, Prosecutors said Mariia Butina should be held in jail until her trial, as her life in the US has been predicated on deception and they suspect her of planning to leave the country.
Prosecutors say the 29-year-old alleged Russian spy relied on a web of people in her efforts to infiltrate Republican politics. She used state-sponsored spies in Russia for guidance, oligarchs for support and funding, and a 56-year-old American for political access.
