I didn't expect the outburst of applause when I arrived at the auditorium to give a motivation talk. I would have preferred the proceedings to be informal and casual. Applause should only be given to those who had achieved something big and worthy, and I hadn't even started my speech yet.
We have seen those gatherings where the hungry egos of political leaders are constantly fed with loud approvals despite the empty promises they make at the rostrum. What pleases you more - praises and rounds of clapping, or fulfilment of your true purpose in life? It makes better sense to do something for a cause, not for applause.
