Intense Storm Hit Durango Before Aeromexico Crash

Mexican authorities blamed weather conditions for the crash Aeromexico Flight 2431 in a field just outside Guadalupe Victoria Airport (Durango International) in Durango, Mexico, on July 31, with 97 passengers and four crew aboard.

AP reported that Durango State Governor Jose Aispuro speaking at a press conference said a gust of wind had hit the Embraer 190 shortly after take-off causing the crash. The 103 passengers and crew had been evacuated safely from the aircraft with 49 taken to hospital for treatment.
