Sloth Bears feeding out of a Deer Forest Bangalore

2018-08-20 72 Dailymotion

May seem cruel but this is life. When it comes to nature, you are either the prey or the predator.
A group of lucky bears have supper, today. But don’t be tricked by their appearance or their prey, as they are not a black bear. These are Sloth Bears, also known as the Labiated Bear, or Stickney Bear.
It’s important to mention that Sloth Bears subsist primarily on termites, ants, and fruits. They are actually the only species of bear adapted specifically for myrmecophagy (ant and termite-eating) (Garshelis et al.1999) (Sacco & Valkenburgh, V. 2004). When trees are in fruit, usually during the monsoon season, sloth bears dine on mango, fig, ebony and other fruits, as well as on flowers.
