Pattaya Hotel Fire Sends Tourists Fleeing

Tourists ran from a hotel this afternoon after flames broke out in one of the rooms. A fire started at the Siwalai City Place in Pattaya, Thailand,at 6.30pm local time. Staff helped to evacuate the guests before fire crews arrived to battle the blaze. The emergency services spent 30 minutes getting the blaze under control and extinguishing the flames. Staff at the hotel estimated that the fire had caused around one million baht (23,500gbp) in damage.
