After sex assault allegations involving Olympic champion short track skater and a former Judoka made the headlines.... South Korea's sports ministry has unveiled measures aimed at preventing sexual misconduct within the nation's sporting circles.
The ministry's sports director said Wednesday.... they have requested a probe of elite training centers such as the Jincheon and Taereung sports villages.... to see whether athletes there have experienced harassment, malpractice or misconduct during their careers.
Representatives from outside the sports community, including officials from the National Human Rights Commission of Korea... will be leading the inspections.
Other measures include.... establishing a sports ethics center specifically focused on misconduct,... and appointing senior female supervisors to check on the female athletes' well-being at training villages.
