Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar assumed charge of Vice Chief of Navy Staff on Wednesday. Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar was holding the post before G Ashol since October 30, 2017. The ceremony took place at South Block lawns at Rashtrapati Bhavan. G Ashok was the deputy chief of Naval Staff since June 6, 2016.
