Fishing for lake whitefish has been a part of Northwest Territories history since well before trading posts were ever established on the shores of Great Slave Lake. Stacy Linington, President of the Northwest Territories Fishermen’s Federation, explains the strategies used to increase lake whitefish exports and maintain an industry that provides jobs for the Hay River community.
