Irrigation scam: Water resource secretary shunted out - NewsX

Maharashtra Water Resources Secretary Devendra Shirke has been asked to go on compulsory long leave. Shirke is among the 45 bureaucrats who are facing departmental inquiry in the irrigation scam. Shirke was the executive director of the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation when the alleged scam took place in 2009. V Giriraj, an IAS rank official, was given additional responsibilities as water resources secretary.
