Jawaharlal Nehru University students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were on Friday granted bail by a trial court in a sedition case. Additional sessions judge Reetesh Singh granted an interim bail for six months to Khalid and Bhattacharya saying "at this stage bail is made out." The duo, arrested on sedition charges for allegedly raising anti-national slogans at the university campus on February 9, are expected to be released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening once bail formalities are completed.
