It may be early August, but parts of Yosemite are buried under 'watermelon snow'

It's still a little wintry at Yosemite National Park in California. In certain parts of the park, snow can still be found on the ground, even though it's early August. Some of the snow gives off a pink color, which is caused by algae protecting itself from the suns rays. Because of this unique color, the parks service says it's often referred to as 'watermelon snow'.
