Powerful hurricane Dorian strikes Bahamas as US east coast braces for impact

Hurricane Dorian began its sweep across the northern Bahamas on September 1, 2019, as a catastrophic Category 5 storm.  The following day, US President Donald Trump warned that the huge storm could strike the nation’s eastern seaboard from Florida to the Carolinas. Hurricane Dorian was expected to approach the US later on Monday, September 2.
