Comedian's father found dead in Quezon

MANILA – The father of comedian Jeffrey Tam was found dead in Quezon province on Tuesday. Alfredo Francisco Tam, 67, was found dead on the side of the road at the boundary of Tayabas and Lucena cities at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Tayabas Police said a witness told them that the older Tam's body was dumped on the roadside by a yellow Isuzu Crosswind. Investigators also found bloody tire marks on the road, suggesting that the victim was run over by a vehicle. The yellow vehicle, which turned out to be owned by the victim, was later found in Barangay Mayao Crossing in Lucena. Police said the car's interiors also had streaks of blood. A heavy-duty wire cutter believed to be used in killing the victim was also recovered. The younger Tam, who is still grieving over the death of his friend, fellow comedian Arvin "Tado" Jimenez, appealed for prayers as he deals with another loss. "Wala na po akong hinihiling kung hindi ipag-dasal niyo ang aking ama. Pilit kong sinasabi sa sarili ko, 'Kung magaling kang madyikero, buhayin mo ang tatay mo.'
