Aquino asks Fil-Chinese businessmen to invest more in PH

MANILA, Philippines – President Noynoy Aquino thanked the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry for its help in the rehabilitation efforts for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. Aquino was the guest of honor in Saturday’s celebration of the group’s 60th anniversary. The president says the group is constructing 500 homes for typhoon survivors in Palo, Leyte. It has also donated P150-million for the relief mission. In his speech, Aquino also called on Filipino-Chinese businessmen to invest more in the country. China’s ambassador to the Philippines was also at the same event, but he refused to comment on the West Philippine Sea dispute. -- News Now, ANC, March 30, 2014.
