Hurricane Dorian Reaches North Carolina Coast

Dorian Reaches Land on
North Carolina Coast.
The hurricane, which is now a category 1, hit the state's
Outer Banks.
The National Hurricane Center says the storm still contains
90 MPH winds.
Upon landfall, Dorian has left
nearly all of North Carolina's
Cape Hatteras without power.
The storm is also responsible for the deaths of at least two people
in the state.
The NHC adds that Dorian should be heading into around the New England area by Friday night.
But beforehand, the NHC says it will cause "life-threatening storm surges" on the
coasts of North Carolina and Virginia.
Dorian has been moving up the
east coast since lambasting the
Bahamas last weekend.
It struck the tiny island nation
as a category 5 hurricane.
30 people have been confirmed dead in the area and that number is expected to rise
