This is the historic moment Pope Francis arrived to cheering crowds for his Holy Mass in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday (November 21).

The Pontiff made the address to tens of thousands of followers crammed inside the city's National Stadium. So many devotees turned up that the address was also shown on large screens outside.

His Holiness spoke about the need to help trafficked women and children, an ongoing problem in parts of Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries.

The Pope's service focused on the importance of helping vulnerable children and women ''who are victims of prostitution and human trafficking, humiliated in their essential human dignity''.

He also referred to drug addicts, migrants and “exploited sinners and bypassed beggars”.

The Pope arrived on Wednesday and his four day trip will finish on Saturday (November 23) morning when he leaves for the next leg of the tour in Tokyo, Japan.

The Pontiff’s visit is the second time a pope has visited Thailand, following the 1984 visit of Pope John Paul II.
