Man held for taking woman hostage in Kota Kinabalu

After a two-hour hostage situation along Jalan Damai in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Wednesday, police swarmed in and overpowered a man at 9.36pm after he held a woman at knifepoint. The woman is receiving medical treatment. It is believed that the woman was taken from a house along Harrington Road near Luyang Restaurant and dragged to Jalan Damai at about 7.30pm.
