Girl Gang Raped in Odisha; Minor Among Two Arrested

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by two youths near her village under Baripada Town Police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
Based on the complaint filed by the girl, police immediately swung into action and arrested two persons, including a minor.
As per the complainant, the girl went to a nearby place to attend Makar Sankrati rituals early morning. This is when the accused forcibly took her to a nearby field and raped her. The victim somehow managed to escape and narrated her ordeal to her elder sister, following which a complaint was filed.
After receiving the complaint, Baripada Town Police Station Sub-Inspector Ranjan Kumar Behera rushed to the spot and managed to nab the accused. Police also took the girl and the two accused for medical examination.
