Are government figures of Corona deaths transparent?

There have been about 3 lakh 70 thousand deaths due to corona in India. In the second wave itself, about 2 lakh people died. But many people have been claiming that the death toll is much more than this. A foreign magazine claimed that the death toll from corona in India could be 5 to 7 times more. However, the government has clarified that the figures of Corona are completely transparent.
