Dr Mahathir: Don't give unqualified politicians ministerial status

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad urged the government to stop appointing unqualified politicians to positions in the administration with ministerial status.

He said during his time, such appointments were made based on strict criteria and only involved senior retired politicians with the relevant experience.
