Cyclone Jawad: IMD issues red alert; ‘very heavy’ rainfall likely in 3 states on Saturday

The depression over southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a deep depression on Friday, and is likely to form a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours, the India Meteorological Department said. The cyclone is likely to cross the coasts of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha on Saturday morning.
