80 और 90 के दशक में भारतीय सिनेमा में डिस्को संगीत को लोकप्रिय बनाने वाले गायक-संगीतकार बप्पी लाहिड़ी का कई स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं के बाद मंगलवार रात 11:40 बजे के आसपास निधन हो गया। उनकी उम्र महज 69 थी। अस्पताल के निदेशक डॉ दीपक नामजोशी द्वारा दिए बयान के मुताबिक, "लाहिड़ी को एक महीने के लिए अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था और सोमवार को उन्हें छुट्टी दे दी गई थी। लेकिन मंगलवार को उनकी तबीयत बिगड़ गई और उनके परिवार ने एक डॉक्टर को उनके घर बुलाया। उन्हें अस्पताल लाया गया। उन्हें कई स्वास्थ्य समस्याएं थीं, जिसकी वजह से उनका निधन हुआ। वीडियो में बप्पी लाहिरी की अंतिम यात्रा शुरु हो गई है जिसमें उनके बेटे और बेटी का रो रो कर बुरा हाल दिखा ।
