The Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov says in televised remarks that Ukrainian civilians can freely leave the capital Kyiv as Moscow's assault goes into its fifth day.
"All civilians in the city can freely leave the capital of Ukraine along the Kyiv-Vasylkiv highway. This direction is open and safe," says Konashenkov.
