Zookeepers fight to keep animals safe at Kyiv zoo as Russian invasion of Ukraine continues

As the invasion of Ukraine continues, animals at a zoo in the capital Kyiv have been caught up in intensifying attacks by Russian forces. About 50 staff of the zoo have been living together to take care of about 4,000 animals which have been shaken by the blasts and continued shelling that has become the norm since February 24, 2022, at the start of the invasion which has now entered its second week.
