Cow's feet and other organs for sale in Iewduh, Shillong

2022-05-17 3 Dailymotion

Beef meat sells in large quantities in Shillong's Bara Bazaar. Despite its image for venerating the cow as a sacred beast and regarding the eating of beef as "taboo," tens of millions of people in India do indeed eat beef on a regular basis.

This overcrowded market at Bara Bazaar in Shillong has hardly any room for another person. This is the largest market in Meghalaya and one of the most authentic local markets in the North-East.

The name ‘Bara Bazaar’ can be simply translated as ‘big bazaar’. The locals called it Iewduh Market.

All kinds of vegetables and spices are brought from all parts of Meghalaya to be sold here. If you reach there early enough, you’ll end up seeing many local farmers shipping in their products. This place is always buzzing with life.
