Off-duty police officer drowns while rescuing children

Royal Life Saving Australia is urging swimmers to be extra cautious at the beach and in rivers and creeks. An off-duty police officer has drowned at an unpatrolled beach on the NSW south coast yesterday trying to rescue two children.
