In fact, according to the survey, the price of cigarettes is the number one concern to smokers aged 45 and over with health concerns second. In addition, more than half (56%) of all those surveyed say they will be smoking fewer cigarettes as a result of the tax increase and of those who already intend to quit, 72% say the new tax increase will make their desire to quit even stronger.
