The George Town Heritage Celebrations 2024, held on July 7 around Armenian Street and Acheh Street in the inner city, is distinguished by its interactive experiences designed to showcase Penang's rich and diverse cultural heritage, with a particular aim of engaging younger audiences.
Ng Boon Nee, the event producer from George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI), highlighted that the workshop format fosters more tangible connections, enhancing the overall experience.
This year, the event featured 16 workshops and six interactive dance stations, with a special emphasis on George Town's built heritage and architecture, which are essential components of its Outstanding Universal Value.
