In 2011, computer chess engines were not as reliable as they are today. Fritz 11 was not a reliable analysis aid. To ensure that the first chess studies I built were correct, I placed the black king immobile in a corner. Such positions are easier to calculate, but have the big disadvantage that the pieces and the king are not free enough and the position is far away from the game. In 2011, Peter Krug published this chess study in Schach Aktiv, an Austrian chess magazine. The problem corner, which ran under Wilfried Seehofer, was very renowned and many submissions were later included in the FIDE Album, which emphasised the very high quality of the chess problems in Schach Aktiv. The small problem chess column was later cancelled. Peter Krug spoke on the video.
