Another bemedaled athlete from NCR surfaces in swimming with 7 golds
National Capital Region (NCR) swimmer Sophia Rose Garra shares the distinction of being the most bemedaled athlete with Titus Rafael Sia at the 65th Palarong Pambansa after she won seven golds at the swimming event for elementary girls, the last of which was the 50m free style competition at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium pool in Laoag City on May 30, 2025. The incoming Grade 7 student from De La Salle Araneta University clocked 28.99 seconds. She also set records in the 100m backstroke (1:07.61) and 200m individual medley with 2:31.41. Her four other golds were in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 4x50m medley relay, and 4x50m freestyle events.
