LA protesters set Waymo cars on fire
During an anti-immigration crackdown protest in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 8, demonstrators set Waymo cars on fire. Footage showed flames and smoke as protesters gathered around the burning vehicles.
Waymo, owned by Alphabet, operates uncrewed robotaxi services in several US cities, including Los Angeles.
Clashes between law enforcement and protesters began Saturday, with federal officers using gas canisters to disperse crowds. Around 30 people were arrested, and three deputies were injured.
California National Guard troops arrived Sunday to help control the unrest, though the state’s governor called their deployment unlawful.
