Iran has reportedly used its medium-range ballistic missile, Sejjil, in combat for the first time in an attack targeting strategic locations within Israeli territory. The information was released by Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing sources within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to reports, the Sejjil missiles — with an estimated range of 2,000 to 2,500 kilometers — were launched Wednesday night toward Israeli military and intelligence facilities, including the headquarters of Mossad, airbases, and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) command centers. Iranian sources claim the strike temporarily overwhelmed Israel’s air defense systems, allowing for brief control of Israeli airspace.
If confirmed, the operational use of the Sejjil missile would mark a new phase in the technological and strategic escalation between Iran and Israel, with potential consequences for the military balance in the region.
