Jhansi/New Delhi – A passenger on the New Delhi–Bhopal Vande Bharat Express was allegedly beaten up on June 19 after he refused to exchange seats with BJP MLA Rajeev Singh from Babina, Jhansi.
CCTV footage, now viral, shows a group attacking the man near the coach’s automated door. The altercation reportedly began when the MLA or his aides asked the man to vacate his seat. When he refused, the situation escalated, culminating in an assault at Jhansi station.
MLA Singh later filed a non-cognizable report (NCR) accusing the co-passenger of misbehaving with his family. GRP said the clash started over a seat and an objectionable posture. No formal complaint has been lodged yet by the assaulted passenger, though police said further action will follow upon receiving it.
