PH 'not directly cooperating' with ICC in request to protect witnesses in Duterte case
Malacañang says that the Philippines is 'not directly cooperating' with the International Criminal Court (ICC) despite Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla's pronouncement that the tribunal had requested the Philippine government to protect witnesses in the case against former president Rodrigo Duterte. 'That's also what the President wants, that justice be provided to those who deserve it,' Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a press conference on June 27, 2025.
