“Friends of Shen Yun” Founder Invites Friends to Shen Yun

The classical Chinese dance and music company Shen Yun Performing Arts is in the middle of an international tour. At a recent run in Tainan City, Taiwan, audience members say they were touched by the show's pagentry and message. Here's more.

“Friends of Shen Yun” founder, Hanlin Zheng, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts for the third time this year at the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center in Taiwan.

“This year is my third time. When I watched the show the first year, I felt it was astonishingly colorful, in its entire dance presentation and costumes. This year it’s also accompanied by a live orchestra. Overall the composition of the orchestra and dance presented aesthetic beauty.”

Ms. Zheng invited Dr. Ruoshan Liu to see Shen Yun. She says the ethnic folk dances were fantastic.

“I felt really touched. I think it’s very fresh, I didn't think I would be able to see so many folk dances. I feel that every ethnic folk dance was fantastic. The show included Miao ethnic dance, and Tibetan dance. Many of the stories were also really lively.”

Professor Suzhen Lin says the show upholds freedom and promotes compassion.

“Regardless of whether they are the same religion, the universal values are the same. It upholds freedom, and promotes compassion. I feel that these universal principles can be expressed through dance or the singers, through those very touching scenes. I feel that the lyrics in the songs are also really good, because it presented a compassionate energy, a very gentle strength.”

Shen Yun is now performing in Changhua County, Taiwan.
