Noam Horowitz is a member of “Tor Hamidbar” association, a charity for creating social change and finding solutions for young people with a troubled background.

Initially, Noam established two youth clubs, and afterwards he adopted a neglected building and turned it into a restaurant.

Most of the workers at the restaurant are teenagers.

The aim of this project is to provide them with an educational framework, and foster personal responsibility and social skills that will help them to be independent in adulthood.

“The restaurant is a social project. In addition to being a very good restaurant, it is also a social project. The aim of this project is to provide vocational training to youth who grow here; Vocational training and general skills. And it takes time and finally we succeed. It's all about patience and saying the same thing sometimes up to twenty five thousand times".

Currently working at the restaurant are 11 teenagers who are being professionally guided by a renowned chef.

They are also accompanied by a social worker 24/7.

They have to arrive on time, learn to become service oriented and to comply with authority.

Rita was referred to the restaurant by her school.

In addition to the support she receives at the restaurant, she also volunteers in helping new immigrants in Israel, and carries an important message to troubled youth.
