Demi Lovato denies drug & alcohol reports

Demi Lovato's representative is denying reports claiming the Disney star is seeking help for drug or alcohol-related issues.

The 18-year-old's spokesperson told E! News:

"As we have said since she entered treatment last week, Demi decided to seek help for emotional and physical issues she has battled throughout her life. She has taken this step in order to get her life in order.

"While we know many are interested in Demi and her life, we do ask for a modicum of privacy during this difficult time."

The teen idol pulled out of touring with the Jonas Brother at the start of November to check into rehab.

Demi is best known for her roles as Mitchie Torres in the Camp Rock movies and as Sonny Munroe in Sonny With a Chance. She has also had a very successful career as a solo artist.

Demi used to date Joe Jonas but she announced they had split up in May 2010.
