More than five thousand nurses and other paramedical staff staged a protest rally in Jaipur City, demanding permanent jobs. They say they will paralyze medical services if their demands are not met.

On Monday, more than five thousand nurses and other paramedical staff carried out a protest rally in Jaipur City of India's Rajasthan state.

They're demanding permanent jobs in their respective departments.

The protesting staff also threatened to paralyze the medical services if the state government failed to fulfill their demands.

[Nirmala Devi, Protester]:
"We ANM workers toil hard like any other medical staff but we are not provided any facility by the government. Therefore, we want to be made permanent and the government should put it out in writing. We will not accept any verbal commitment. We want our permanent notice now."

The protesters also want better pay.
