In our top story today, we go to Serbia, where questioning of war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic has been suspended, due to Mladic's poor health. But the prosecutor says the court will continue questioning Mladic on Friday. He faces charges of war crimes and genocide during the Bosnian war.
The Belgrade-based war crimes court stopped questioning suspect Ratko Mladic on Thursday. According to his lawyer, the interview with Mladic was stopped because of his poor health.

[Milos Saljic, Lawyer for Ratko Mladic]:
"The investigative judge has tried to interview Ratko Mladic but without success because he is in a serious condition. He is hardly responsive, and that's why the judge interrupted the interview. Doctors will examine him and determine his condition and whether he can be interviewed."

Bruno Vekaric, the deputy war crimes prosecutor, told reporters the court would continue to question Mladic on Friday.

[Bruno Vekaric, Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor]:
"He is under medical supervision. Also the investigative judge is taking care to guarantee his legal rights. He called members of his family, and everything else which is according to the legal system. The procedure will be continued tomorrow."

Mladic was arrested in northeastern Serbia where he was hiding in a farmhouse owned by a relative.

He is sought by a U.N. war crimes court to face charges of genocide and war crimes during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war.

Mladic has been taken to Belgrade's Special War Crimes Court. There he faces proceedings to extradite him to the U.N. tribunal in The Hague, which could take seven working days.

In central Belgrade up to 200 people demonstrated against Mladic's arrest.
