Activists clashed with police after blocking a highway in Chiomonte, northern Italy. Police in riot gear were at the scene to escort cranes and other vehicles towards the entrance of a tunnel where a building site for the Italian part of the high-speed railway line linking Turin with Lyon (France) is due to be opened shortly.
