And the classical Chinese dance and music company Shen Yun Performing Arts is now in the middle of a five show run at New York City's Lincoln Center. NTD Television is an official media sponsor of Shen Yun in New York. Our reporter caught up with one member of the arts community who said the ancient origins of Chinese culture were fascinating to learn about.

Shen Yun Performing Arts started a run of performances at New York's Lincoln Center last night.

[David Rodriguez, Executive Producer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center]:
"Absolutely wonderful. It's wonderful how it shows many views of Chinese culture."

The first performance opened to a full house.

[David Rodriguez, Executive Producer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center]:
"The audience seems very appreciative and very enthusiastic and it looks as though their Lincoln Center run is almost sold out, so that's a great sign."

Classical Chinese dance has a history dating back thousands of years.

[David Rodriguez, Executive Producer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center]:
"I thought the quality of the dance was very good. Certainly the audiences were very enthusiastic and certainly it was a gateway for people to learn more about the Chinese culture."

Shen Yun draws inspiration from Chinese history and literature, as well as from China's diverse ethnic groups.

[David Rodriguez, Executive Producer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center]:
"It certainly looks at a number of different genres and a number of different types of dance and types of culture in China -- so it's refreshing."

He plans to come back again.

[David Rodriguez, Executive Producer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center]:
"I certainly enjoyed coming and I brought a member of my family and I certainly look forward to seeing it again."
