The joint Fire and Rescue Service - police investigation team assembled on Saturday night to investigate the cause of the devastating fire that destroyed the IKEA outlet in Netanya has not ruled out arson as the cause of the blaze but are also examining the possibility that a technical electric fault was the cause. Police officials believe within days they will know the cause of the fire that devastated the first IKEA store in Israel on Saturday. Police succeeded in removing some of the close circuit television cameras deployed at the site which they hope may assist in their investigation. Investigators are also studying how the fire spread so quickly despite the cutting edge fire safety technology fitted in the store.
